At the recent Mission service the children and young people were asked to write prayers.  Here are some for you to read.

Jessica

Dear Lord, thank you for creating this lovely world.  Help us to care for our world through caring for nature and help us to recycle.  Help us to save energy by switching lights off and walking instead of driving in the car.  Help us to do all this at home, in school, on holiday or wherever we may be.  Thank you for all this.   Amen.

The world is fair in some countries.  Other places are not so fair.  The not so fair part has no food, no beds, no houses and no washing machines.  The lucky parts have everything they need.  Amen

Thank you, Lord, for all the things you give us.  Help us appreciate what we have, but also give us a charitable spirit so that we can give to others less fortunate.  Help us, Lord!

 Thank you for the Gospel you bring to us through our Sunday School teachers.  Help us to practise your Gospel and also to spread your word to others.  Because when we walk with you and live by your words, everything falls into place.  Thank you, Lord!  Amen

Dear God,

Help us to realise the world is unjust
That some people have lots and others not much.
Things that go on, on this earth are unfair
And millions of people need to learn how to share.

 There are two types of people: the rich and the poor.
The poor people have nothing and the rich have lots more.
Some kinds of people are selfish and mean
And you need to forgive them God, and make us all clean.

 This prayer is me begging, Lord, please hear my voice.
There is too much war, it’s not a nice noise.
Please help me to spread the good news of you
And help other people to join with me too.   Amen

Lord give those countries and people in the world courage and strength to stand up to people who discriminate and treat countries and people unfairly.  I know that the world is unfair but we could do little things to help ourselves in the world today.  We could help stop wars and have peace throughout the world.

Lord please give us guidance and help because no problem is too big for you oh mighty Lord.
